Honoring The Work Of Addiction Professionals

Annually at the APSC Conference, APSC recognizes addiction professionals who work selflessly to assist those struggling with addiction. Nominations are welcome and may be made by completing the online form that appears below.

Awards

The Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC) honors our profession annually by recognizing an outstanding individual in the state who has made significant contributions to the field of addictions. We invite you to participate in this celebration by nominating your choice for APSC Professional of the Year.

Your Nominee needs to be an individual who has made a significant contribution to our profession in the areas of: Prevention, Intervention, Treatment, Research or Administration.

Your Nominee needs to be:

  1. An APSC certified Addictions Counselor.
  2. A member in good standing of APSC/ NAADAC.
  3. A long-term line counselor who has served as a positive role model and influence to both his/her clients and peers.
  4. An individual who has made positive and innovative contributions to the field of addiction counseling in the state.

The Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC) recognizes those individuals, who by their work over the course of their career as an addiction professional have improved the quality of services provided to individuals with or affected by addiction, reduced the stigma associated with addiction and made a positive impact on the lives of individuals with addiction, their families and their communities in South Carolina.

Award Criteria:  The Board of Directors of the Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC) shall at their discretion select individuals to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award based on criteria such as:

  1. A minimum of 25 years working in the field of addiction treatment, prevention or recovery in the state of South Carolina.
  2. Served a minimum of four years in an elected or appointed capacity on the Board of Directors of APSC or the APSC Certification Commission or a minimum of four years on state, regional, national or international organizational boards or commissions whose primary function is addiction treatment, prevention and recovery.
  3. Have been recognized at a state, national or international level for exemplary service in the field of addiction treatment, prevention and recovery.

Required:

  1. Have Letters of Recommendation from at least two current or previous members of the APSC Board of Directors or APSC Certification Commission.
  2. Is a member of SCAADAC (NAADAC membership required).

The Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC) honors our profession annually by recognizing an outstanding Certified Peer Support Specialist in the state. We invite you to participate in this celebration by nominating your choice for APSC Counselor of the Year.

Your Nominee needs to be:

  1. An APSC certified Peer Support Specialist.
  2. A member in good standing of APSC/ NAADAC.
  3. A long-term line Peer Support Specialist who has served as a positive role model and influence to both his/her clients and peers.
